To begin making Raw Mango Dal Fry Recipe, prep all the ingredients first. Into the pressure cooker, add the dal, salt red chilli powder, turmeric powder, slit green chilli, tomato and grated raw mango into the cooker. Raw Mango Dal Recipe is a classic Andra dish made of yellow lentils cooked with unripe tangy mango pieces and some spices made on stove top or instant pot pressure cooker. This dish is also known as Mamidikaya Pappu ie Mamidikaya means 'Mango' and Pappu means 'Dal' in Telugu.
Instructions to make Raw Mango Dal:
- Firstly soak the toor dal in water for about 10 min
- Once done take a pressure cooker add toor dal, chopped raw mango, chopped green chili, red chilli powder, turmeric powder salt & 11/2 cup water and cover it with lid and pressure cook it untill 4 whistle
- Once done let the pressure cooker cool down then open the lid and whisk the dal
- In a pan add 1 tbspn of oil once the oil is heated add mustard & cumin seeds, curry leaves 2 dried red chilli and let it splutter
- Once done add the whisked dal and cook it for a min and then turn off the flame and garnish it with Coriander
- Your raw mango dal is ready
