  5. Prepare 2-3 dry red chilli
  6. Prepare 2-4 Vertically split green chilli
  7. Make ready 10-15 curry leaves
  8. Take 1 tsp mustard seeds
  9. Make ready 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  10. Make ready Pinch asafoetida
  11. Take 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  12. Make ready 1 tsp salt(as required)
  13. Take 1 tbs Oil

This time I wanted to make a recipe with mango which is quite filling and also perfect to be eaten during breakfasts and I decided to make mamidikaya pulihora. I have posted Mango rice (mango masala rice) earlier which is totally different from this recipe. This is another version of Mango rice (Andhra style) prepared with raw mangoes. It is very easy to prepare, needs less ingredients and tastes similar to the South Indian Lemon Rice.

Steps to make Raw mango rice(mamidikaya pulihora):
  1. Add grated mango and salt to the hot rice. Mix well with a fork.
  2. Heat the oil in a small pan. When the oil is hot add peanuts and fry well. Add this peanuts to the cooked rice.
  3. Now add udad dal to the hot oil. Then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and asafoetida. Mix well.
  4. Add red chilli, green chilli, curry leaves fry for few seconds. Switch off the gas.
  5. Now add turmeric powder mix well. Add this oil to the cooked rice mixture. Mix all together well.
  6. Mamidikaya pulihora is ready to serve.
